Judgement Day comes and goes; glad I didn't cancel my gym membership

As the radio evangelist Howard Camping makes another looney prediction. He had previously predicted the coming of the rapture in 1994, and then said he'd gotten his math wrong.

I discovered Howard in the late 1990's when I was coaching the North Jersy Rugby Club. He was on a New Jersey radio station and I'd sometimes listen to him whil I was driving home from Jersey.

He had his own brand of Christianity - if you could call it that - and it was very clear that he felt there'd be very few people with him inside the Pearly Gates. The rest of us were lost. Camping especially despised Catholicism.

I doubt if his followers will be dissuaded by his little miscalculation.
