Today's Stepinac AAA semi-final; went into OT

And ended at Stepinac 27, Xaverian 21!

I had posted twice about this - here's the last one More on Stepinac football and the playoffs

Stepinac won despite five (5!) turnovers. They had the ball first in overtime and scored, but the extra point was blocked.

The way OT works in high school (only found this out today) the teams start from the 10 yard line and of course have 4 downs to score. Stepinac scored, and then on first down the Xaverian QB ran it down to the 2 yard line, was hit and fumbled. Stepinace recovered and that was the game.

UPDATE: After his team scored on its first possession of overtime, Stepinac's Vincent Narog forced a fumble at the 1-yard line that was recovered by Shane Hogan to finish off Stepinac's 27-21 win over Xaverian in the CHSFL AAA semifinals at Stepinac High School.

Too be honest, Stepinac should have won more easily. Five turnovers normally kill you. Besides Brigid, Tom and Tim, there were maybe 900-1,000 people at the game (my estimate).
