The Washington Post this morning has a pretty good article on Dolan (NY) and O'Malley (Boston) and whether they're in the running to be next pontiff.
O'Malley would be fine with me; Dolan, nada.
An American pope is an unlikely prospect — but more likely than last time
My hope is that we'll get a new Pope from Africa, Asia, or South America.
I'm looking to support a good deacon, but who asked?

I'm voting by text message for the African or the Filipino. But don't think my vote will count for much either.

TF - Would that be the O'Malley who presided over the Black Mass honoring Ted Kennedy's well known & lifetime demonic service?
As far as I am aware there were no children actually slaughtered or virgins deflowered on the altar during that Mass, presumably due to doubts about giving such specific form to the substance; but t'would hardly have been out of place had there been.
It is thus hardly a defense of Dolan to note that his weaknesses pale when compared to O'Malley's public enormity.

A Black Mass? that's where they worship the devil.
The principal celebrant was this guy - Fr. J. Donald Monan, S.J., Chancellor, Boston College.

Or honor him, as they did with the prominent Mass celebrating the life of his very public servant.
