The "compassionate release" of a terrorist -

I am very big on compassion. And if the terminally-ill-with-cancer terrorist who blew up Pan Am flt. 103 over Scotland 20 years had just been your plain vanilla murderer, I'd have been OK with it.

BUT, the release has terrible political rmaifications, sends a terrible message to other terrorists ...

Brigid missed that flight by about four days, coming back from seeing her family in York, England.

Meanwhile, Col Gaddafi's son told Libyan TV that Megrahi's release was linked to trade deals with Britain.

Speaking on Libyan television, Seif al Islam claimed Britain's former prime minister, Tony Blair, raised Megrahi's case each time he visited Libya.

"In all commercial contracts, for oil and gas with Britain, (Megrahi) was always on the negotiating table," Islam told channel Al Mutawassit.
