Going to get on at West Mombasha Rd, near Monroe, and then five miles to the Wildcat Shelter. Overnight there, and then 8 miles to the NY/NJ border, where Brigid will pick me up around 2-3 o'clock tomorrow.
Back in December, 2007 (can't believe it was that long ago!) Brigid and I, along with Mike and Karen Riner, ended a five mile hike where I'll be starting. Back on the Appalachian Trail
That hike included a beginning stretch called "Agony grind", but there's no such stretch on this leg of the trail.
Going solo this time - nonoe of my friends' wives would go with me ...
Well please send a note when you return, so we don't have to worry about you..........Didn't you do this last summer?

Ha ha ha. (on the wives comment) Met a girl in Maine who had done the entire route last year. It took her four months or so I think. She started out solo then ended up hooking up with a small group on the trail. Sounded great. glad you got to do an overnight again.
