Instead of going to the gym today, I went for about an hour walk on Croton Point. These pictures are from the "top" of the Point - top being relative; it's not really very high at all - on the capped garbage "landfill".
For the uninitiated Croton Point had a garbage dump for decades. It was closed in 1996 and big efforts were made re: an environmental clean-up. Brigid and I have walked over it a few times, and haven't grown any extra digits, or turned green, so we presume it's OK.
Looking southeast here's the center of Ossining, with the square spire of Ossining High School to the left, and the Baptist Church spire toward the middle.
And looking north and a little west, over the Hudson River; can you see the "Sleeping Indian?"
The high spire is actually the Methodist Church- First Baptist is in between OHS and the Methodist and a bit lower, but you can clearly make out their main building.
Downtown Ossining is architecturally impressive, and hopefully in a few years will have completely eliminated the last bit of blight from the awful urban renewal period.

Agree Phil on the beauty of Ossining. Tom it was a great day yesterday for the great outdoors and we skipped the gym too - went to visit the ocean at Jones Beach, lovely to be out. Happy New Year.
