Yesterday was ten weeks post-op for Tim, and we saw the surgeon Dr. Weinstein. He examed Tim, saw what the physiotherapist had to say, and was quite pleased. He told Tim "you're 95% there". He still has some relative leg weakness compared to the left leg, especially the gluteal (technical way of saying his butt).
Dr. Weinstein said he can start doing some squats, as long as he doesn't twist his knee out, doesn't do deep squats (beyond parallel, which Tim never does anyway) and doesn't use heavy weights. When I told him that Tim's idea of a heavy squat was 300 pounds, he smiled at Tim and told him "You know, you're not normal." (Tim loved that comment!!)
We'll see Weinstein again in four weeks, when he expects to give Tim the all-clear for full activity. This is at the optimistic end of the original timetable. Great!
Good news!
