Even a Democrat opposes the ludicrous NYC morning after pill/hormone treatment for HS students

This dopey program, in the City that now bans soft drinks over 16 ounces, was first reported in by the NY Post here. The city already gives out 3 million free condoms a month.

The synthetic hormone in use is levonorgestrel, and it's no supposed to be used by anyone under 17 without a prescription..

But school nurses and other personnel are distributing it to students as young as 14.

It's so absurd that here's a Democrat opposing the plan! Imagine that ...

New York State Assemblyman Marcos Crespo, a Democrat who represents parts of the South Bronx, called on Mayor Michael Bloomberg to immediately kill the program.

"It is unconscionable for New York City's government to implement any program that gives medication to students without the prior authorization of parents," he said in a letter to the mayor.
