He had a long career in acting and entertainment, but his role in McHale's Navy (a show that was beloved in my house!) is what he's best known for.
Unusual for Hollywood, he was married to the same woman for 66 years.

He should be going straight to heaven, with no stopover in purgatory, after that remarkable feat!!!
