Well, he's a better man then me... From the Telegraph (UK). Hit the link forthe whole article - it's a quick read - pretty amazing.
British grandfather celebrates beating three types of cancer in a year with trek to South Pole
Doctors operated almost immediately, removing parts of his large and small intestines, stomach muscles and five lymph nodes.
Mr McIntosh thought he was cured, and seven months later scaled Kilimanjaro – taking less than three days to do so.
But then he was diagnosed with skin cancer, needing to have moles removed from his face, hands and back.
And in spring 2013 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which required a seven hour operation. Unbelievably, none of the cancers were connected – it was all, his doctors said, bad luck.
"I thought to myself, I'm still alive, so I should do something to help other people make it," he said. "No one wants to hear about cancer, but everyone likes stories of physical feats. That's when I hit on the idea of trekking to the South Pole."
Clearly, the science of PATHology is important to him in keeping the cancers at bay, i.e., the PATHology of beating a PATH to the South Pole!!!
