I don't understand how you can have trial, when the Judge (Senator Leahy) is also one of the Jurors (Senator Leahy). To his credit the Chief Justice of the SC, John Roberts, refused to participate in the fiasco. 100% political theater.

Well, having the most senior senator preside makes more sense than jurors Graham, Cruz and Paul conferring with and assisting the defense counsel.
