2nd UPDATE: Brigid's instructor liked this so much he's posting pictures on a couple of his websites
UPDATE: Got this in an email from one of my excellent correspondents - "Tom, you're not untalented. Few among us have the ability to summon up such words as "galoot". "
Pottery - she took a 2 hour course online and then made this in 3 plus hours. The clay was originally just a lump. Difficult to understand why she married a talentless galoot - must have been opposites attract. A little commentary below the pictures. The inspiration was the semi-documentary My Octopus Teacher which we saw on Netflix and last night won the Oscar as best documentary.
It will be fired in an outdoor kiln made of brick and wood (old fashioned method.) Brigid's comments to me (which she won't know I'm posting until she sees this) and bear in mind she has an art and graphic design degree:
"I'm not entirely happy with it. Bit rough. 50 years since I've done anything in clay. It came back a bit."
My contribution yesterday - I took a picture of the sunset while walking just north of Half Moon Bay. Of course sunsets from there - like shooting fish in a barrel. Any moron...
She is very talented

Great job Brigid. Looks like some lovely pieces you've made. I'm sure they'll get scooped up at the craft shows.
