Aiming to end the Hyde Amendment which said there was no requirement for taxpayer funding. Of course a moot point in NY State where taxpayer (medicaid) funded abortion is available through til birth.

House Passes Spending Bill That Would Fund Abortions with Tax Dollars

The House of Representatives voted 219-208 to pass a spending bill on Thursday that would not include the Hyde Amendment, a stipulation that prohibits taxpayer money from funding abortions, for the first time in 45 years.
