Farandaville troubles; Spiderman is sick

Oh dear, Spiderman (so named because he used to bounce around his cage) the chinchilla (one of six...!? we have) stopped eating and became very lethargic about two days ago. Went to the vet (an exotic animal vet) yesterday - Thursday - morning and has problems. Possibly cancer or some abdominal issue.  We have to feed him through a syringe and give him an antibiotic the same way, twice a day. Spiderman is seven or eight years old - we've lost track - and has had three lots of children.

He lives with his son Strider.

We hope Spiderman pulls out of this; pet chinchillas can live10-20 years.
