First time ever - American woman wins the world championship in the shot put.

Note: Track and Field World Championships are every two years - second only in importance to the Olympics.

Great stuff. If you are wondering, the women's shot put weighs 8.8 lbs - the men's is 16 lbs. This is one of the two events Tim was excellent at (the other the javelin); all county in high school and all conference in college. So - Tom and Brigid do enjoy watching the field events...
