I think the apology tour of Pope feeds into the Revolution narrative to over throw the west and actually creates more problems and resentment as you can see people there are already saying the apology was not going far enough. Also the the weird Canadian PM is basically painting the picture that any wrong doing is fully the church’s fault and has nothing to do with the the government.
I know evangelization is not cultural genocide and the pope should point that out as many Native Americans wanted to learn about Jesus and follow him. Many became proud Catholics. I think there is way more to the history then simply saying the church was bad.
