Interesting little article in Forbes about a young woman being castigated online for her doctoral thesis. Tons of negative comments from brainless people with twitter (X) access.

I feel sorry for the young woman. As with all doctoral dissertations you are trying to do original research in some tiny area of your field. If you hit the link and scroll down you can read the first part of the abstract of the paper. It's reasonable research to my mind.

While it’s upsetting that Dr. Ally Louks has received such a torrent of abuse, it does provide a perfect example of how social media can divorce people from reality and encourage some of the worst aspects of human nature.
